What is
Ayurvidya
Welcome to the heart of my practice.
As an Ayurvedic Health Coach and Nurse, I created AyurVidya to weave together two powerful threads: the ancient science of Ayurveda and the deeply intuitive care that defines my path in nursing. “Ayur” means life in Sanskrit while “Vidya” means knowledge or embodied wisdom. AyurVidya is the embodied knowledge of life, where modern clinical insight meets timeless principles of balance, nature, and inner knowing. Rooted in generations of quiet wisdom passed down from my own mother, Vidya, and heartfelt caregiving, it reflects both ancestral healing and the art of being present with those who need it most.
While Ayurveda has existed for over 5,000 years, born from India’s Vedic traditions, it is now beginning to receive wider attention in Western medicine. It is a holistic medical system that sees health not as the absence of disease, but as a dynamic state of equilibrium between body, mind, spirit, and environment. It emphasizes prevention, personalized care, and alignment with nature's rhythms.
From herbs and dietary guidance to daily rituals, yoga, and breathwork, Ayurveda offers tools for realignment and resilience. It is rooted in five elemental forces (space, air, fire, water, and earth), and uses the three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—to understand your unique constitution and imbalances.
Today, as Western science begins to study Ayurvedic concepts—like gut health, circadian rhythms, and mind-body connection—we’re seeing how relevant these ancient methods are to issues like autoimmune disease, hormonal imbalance, stress, and chronic inflammation.
AyurVidya bridges that gap.
It takes the depth of Ayurveda and translates it into modern, practical guidance—especially for those navigating demanding lives, hormonal chaos, burnout, or emotional overload. Here, you'll learn how to restore your inner balance, support your nervous and endocrine systems, and reconnect with your body’s natural intelligence.

Ayurveda teaches that we are made of the same elements as the universe: space, air, fire, water, and earth. These are called the Panchamahabhutas, and they combine in unique ways within us to form the three Doshas, or bioenergetic forces:
-
Vata (Air + Ether): Governs movement, the nervous system, breath, and elimination. When balanced, it fuels creativity and clarity. When imbalanced, it causes anxiety, dryness, constipation, and sleep issues.
-
Pitta (Fire + Water): Rules metabolism, digestion, and hormones. In balance, it sharpens focus and vitality. Out of balance, it can lead to irritability, inflammation, and acid reflux.
-
Kapha (Water + Earth): Provides structure, stability, immunity, and emotional grounding. Balanced kapha brings calm and resilience. In excess, it may cause sluggishness, congestion, or weight gain.
We are all born with a unique doshic constitution (prakriti), and when our lifestyle, diet, or emotions push these energies out of balance (vikriti), illness can arise, first as subtle symptoms, then as chronic conditions if left unaddressed.
Doshas are influenced by many factors, including:
-
Diet and digestion
-
Daily routine
-
Sleep patterns
-
Emotional state
-
Seasonal and environmental exposure
-
Life stage (childhood is kapha-dominant, adulthood pitta, elder years vata)
Overexertion, irregular eating, unresolved stress, toxin exposure, and overstimulation can all disrupt doshic balance.
My work helps restore harmony through gentle, personalized care and practices.

Dinacharya: The Power of Daily Ritual
Dinacharya, or daily routine, is one of Ayurveda’s most powerful tools for prevention and healing. Aligning your day with nature’s rhythms supports hormone balance, digestion, detoxification, and restful sleep.
Your morning sets the tone for your entire endocrine system. Evening rituals are just as essential.
Rituals don’t need to be complicated. What matters is consistency and intention.
I help clients build routines that are realistic, restorative, and deeply supportive of their health.
